For honest, confidential answers to your questions about healthy sexuality, you can talk to a nurse from our sexual health team.

  • Call us weekdays from 8:30 a.m.—noon and 1:00–4:30 p.m. at 1-800-461-1818 and ask for a sexual health nurse.
  • Email the Porcupine Health Unit (PHU) at [email protected], and a sexual health nurse will get back to you.

Note: You should be aware that sending personal information through the internet may not be secure. Once your information is received by the Porcupine Health Unit, it will be managed according to our privacy policies and will be redirected to the sexual health team in Timmins.

We have a confidential, easily accessible sexual health clinic. Our nurses and physician provide a variety of sexual health services available through appointment. Depending on what brings you to our clinic, you may need to be seen by the nurse and/or the physician. Please see the information below for details about your visit to our clinic.

  • To obtain your birth control at low cost (pills, patch, Depo)
  • The "Morning-After Pill"  
  • Pregnancy testing or help with a referral
  • Testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea, Trichomonas, Herpes
  • Testing for Syphilis, Hepatitis A, B, C and HIV (anonymous, rapid testing available)
  • Treatment of Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Trichomonas, Herpes and Syphilis  
  • Vaccines (Hepatitis A, B, HPV, and mpox)  
  • A Pap test

Call to book an appointment if you need:  

  • To have a prescription for birth control  
  • Diagnosis and treatment of genital warts (HPV)  
  • Removal of an IUD  
  • Referrals to specialist (HIV, Hepatitis, IUD or contraceptive implants)
