Administrative Assistant

Permanent Part-Time - Matheson, Competition Number: 2024.16.PPTAAB

The Porcupine Health Unit is seeking applications from qualified individuals who are interested in providing administrative support within multi-disciplinary teams in our Matheson office. This is a part-time position working half days Monday to Friday. As an integral team member, the Administrative Assistant will be responsible for performing tasks such as data entry; filing and managing information including program supplies and documents; scheduling appointments, interacting with clients, processing and formatting documents; preparing agendas and recording minutes and providing reception relief.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in office administration program or equivalent education, training and work experience;
  • Previous work experience in office administration is an asset;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills including WORD, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to learn to use specialized software and databases;
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Effective interpersonal skills and desire to work with a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Exceptional customer service skills;
  • Strong time management and organizational skills;
  • Fluency in both official languages is an asset;  
  • Ability to assist with implementation of program activities and events as necessary which may involve some evening work;
  • Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check;
  • Required to comply with Immunization policies including COVID-19 vaccination unless valid medical exemption is provided.
  • Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the position.
